Crispin Southgate is a director at Institutional Investment Advisors in London. Before joining IIA he was a managing director and European credit strategist at Merrill Lynch. His thirty years of experience in financial services has also covered SG Warburg, where he was co-head of the financial structuring group; Charterhouse Bank, where he was a founder of the RBS Capital Markets Division in 1987; and Price Waterhouse, where he qualified as a chartered accountant.
Crispin Southgate serves on the Basel Financial Stability Board's Enhanced Disclosure Task Force, the Risk Working Group of the FRC/Board for Actuarial Standards, the Employee Benefits Working Group of the IASB and the Corporate Reporting Users Forum. He holds an MA in politics, philosophy & economics from Merton College, Oxford.

Denis Gardrat is European head of Credit Structuring. He started his career with BNP Paribas working for the Credit Portfolio Management team in charge of managing the bank loan book from a risk and capital point of view. He joined the Fixed Income Credit Structuring team in 2005 arranging credit and funding-related products (correlation, gap-risk , repos, TRS, CLOs…) and providing credit solutions to institutional investors and private banks. Denis graduated from Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées and holds a MSc in Structured Finance from Paris University.
Diala is a corporate partner in the London office of Paul Hastings. She specialises in debt and credit funds with a particular focus on direct lending funds both regulated and unregulated, including onshore and offshore structures. Her practice also encompasses CLO equity and risk retention funds, as well as other structured finance transactions, including bespoke mid-market CLO type funds, CLOs and CDOs.
Gavin Mailer-Howat is a director of EPE’s advisory & placement business and has over 25 years’ experience in asset management and alternative investments. Prior to joining EPE he was director of private equity (Middle East) at Campbell Lutyens (2001-11). He also acted as senior adviser to hedge fund groups Dexion Capital and IPM-Informed Portfolio Management, prior to which he was senior vice president, Citco Group and managing director, Citco Fund Advisers with responsibility for developing the group's global alternative investment business. Mailer-Howat spent six years in the ‘90s working in the Middle East, latterly as regional director, Murray Johnstone. He started his career in finance at Kleinwort Benson Investment Management in 1987.

Lars Schmidt-Ott is the founder of Be-Spoke Capital, which he founded in 2015. Schmidt-Ott started his career in 1994 at The Boston Consulting Group advising clients mainly in the financial services industry. In 1997 he went to Swiss Re Financial Services where he was a member of the executive team and served as head global banking as well as head strategy and product development. In 2003, Schmidt-Ott co-founded the Capital Efficiency Group

Leo Fletcher-Smith joined Aksia in July 2016 as a strategy head for private credit in Europe. His focus is on providing research and advisory services to Aksia's institutional clients across the European private credit space encompassing corporate lending, distressed and opportunistic strategies. Prior to joining Aksia, he provided independent advice to private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on debt raisings, refinancings and restructurings across the European leveraged finance space for 10 years as an associate director within the debt advisory practice at Deloitte. Leo also worked in Deloitte’s transfer pricing team advising sponsors and multinational companies on internal, intra-group financing arrangements.
He graduated in 2004 from the University of Manchester with a BA in Economics. He is a CFA charterholder, and is based in London.
